It would be awesome! I adore your website. I also list mythological creatures and your website has been such a help to me. You have clearly put a ton of work and research into this.
Hi there, sorry I’m a little late to the party, I’ve been reading your creature descriptions for a while now and am even making my own bestiary of creatures, monsters, cryptids, and deities and your work has helped immensely with that. seeing you come back after a long while felt like the reunion scene at the end of HTTYD 3 and I hope you can continue to make these creatures and their descriptions. But this is only if you want to, the fact that you are able to go through as much as you did and bounce back is amazing and I think there are a tone of people that can say likewise.
Your website has given me and my friends hours and hours of fun and inspiration for monsters in our tabletop games! We would love for you to return but thank you for everything you have done so far if you don’t.
I’ve been month to month since 2021 looking back each time to see if you came back, and i have adored many of your creations since the first time i found this in 2018 If you are able to we would all love it.
It would be wonderful if you returned, we would all like it. But you should post when you want, and take breaks when you need to.
Also, is there another name for kăk-whăn’-û-ghăt kǐg-û-lu’-nǐk that isn’t erroneous or a pain to write? I’m trying to write a bestiary of my own and don’t want to have to use an extremely long name, and I usually try to avoid using erroneous names.
Very good question! That’s actually EXACTLY how it’s written in Nelson. However! It’s bad Englishing. My Yup’ik dictionary (Jacobson, 2010) gives “kegluneq” to mean “wolf”. I have sadly not been able to find what the first word means though.
“Akhlut”, or arrluk as my dictionary puts it, is simply “killer whale” or “orca”.
That would be so exciting!
However you did have your reasons for stopping so if you were to start again I hope its because things are in a better place and you feel up to it.
I heard from a fandom article that the shuck legend originated from Norse mythology. Is that true? I do see similarities between fenrir and shucks, but I would have thought that they originated from Greek mythology, with similarities to Cerberus. Which one is it? or is it a combination of different ideas(like many of these things are).
Absolutely. Every time I come here since the last post, I fear it will have been taken down. I am glad to see you are still soldiering on, This is truly a labor of love. ❤
Espero sinceramente que vuelvas, tu blog es increíble; un refugio para quienes amamos la mitología- Te escribo en español para que entiendas que tu influencia llegó incluso a Latinoamérica.
Greetings from Florida , USA. I have read all your entries and am a huge fan of your work and writing. I was surprised to see once I was finished with reading them all, you had gone on a hiatus. I understand that one as a human must go aside from certain activities but it would bring me certain joy to see a new entry! You have my support!
How are you feeling? There is quite a bit of interest from what I’ve seen. But what really matters is how you are feeling. These are stressful times, and I don’t want you to start this up again if you’re feeling bad.
Your work is truly amazing, and never fails to make me smile a return would be absolutely thrilling
but you must do whatever is best for you,
Parasocial as this may be, we’re all rooting for you and want the best for you.
(also I recently found out one of my other worldbuilder friends also loves your work, which was neat)
Apologies for the late reply to this. I’m a new fan, only just found this site maybe a year ago. I was sad to see that by then you had already gone on hiatus. I absolutely LOVE this site, and it’s been my main source of information for creatures (I am working on a fantasy world that has no real-world species, not even humans, and so I am populating it entirely with mythological creatures).
yes i would love to, thanks for your works it helped me grow my culture and imagination, and make my writing better, but always privilege how you feel, your well being is the most important
We all miss you so much!!! ❤
